Timescape - Canopy workshop

Tuesday June 8th 2010. Members of g8artists worked with a group of 7 - 11 year old children at Dame Catherine Harpur's School in Ticknall on the edge of Calke Park.

A very busy day which started (due to bad weather) with a 'virtual' tree canopy projected on the classroom ceiling and children lying underneath observing and discussing the shapes, structures, colours and textures.

The children worked very hard all morning producing some very imaginative drawings investigating the "Canopy" theme and then the rest of the day in teams producing branches, leaves and sky shapes which were assembled into their own canopy attached to netting which was then installed over there heads, hung from the ceiling.

Examples to be shown at the "Traces" exhibition in August.
